Dr. Kai Hwang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and the Iowa Neuroscience Institute, has received a 5-year $2.2 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. This research investigates the cognitive control functions of the human thalamus, using fMRI, EEG, and human lesion study approaches.
