Graduate Student Cate Cosme Receives National Research Service Award
The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences is pleased to announce that Cate Cosme has been awarded a National Research Service Award (NRSA) from NIH/NIDA. The title of her proposal is “Insular Cortex Projections in the Reinstatement of Cocaine Seeking.” Her project will investigate the projections from the agranular insular cortex (AId) to different downstream regions to determine their role in cued reinstatement. This work will be instrumental in elucidating the neural circuits by which the AId regulates cocaine-seeking behaviors. The work will be carried out under the supervision of Cate’s advisor, Professor Ryan LaLumiere.
