Information for Adult Participants
Before signing up for a study please be sure to review the study requirements. Many of our studies require that English be your only fluent language, and that you have normal hearing.
If you are scheduled to participate in one of our studies, you can find our lab in the basement of Spence Labs of Psychology (it's the building attached to Seashore Hall), in room B1. Enter through the Iowa Avenue entrance and look for the door to your left left, just before the stairwell, labelled "MACLAB". If the door is locked, please, use the intercom device to let us know you arrived. If the doors to the main entrance are locked, please, give us a call at (319) 335-0692 and we will come and let you in. If you cannot make it to an appointment, please let us know.
If you are scheduled to participate in one of our studies as part of your Elementary Psychology or Research Methods in Psychology course requirement, you can use the SONA system to check the day and time for your appointment. If you can't make it to an appointment, please use the SONA system to cancel your sign-up.
Arriving on time or early will ensure that you are finished with your study during the alloted time. Making this easy for both you and the other students who are signed up for studies after you. When you arrive, please remember to turn off your cell phone.
Useful info for our young participants and their parents/guardians can be found here .
