Enrollment Information for External Internship Capstone Experience for Honors in the Major

When a student is preparing to do an external internship for one of their capstone experiences for honors in the major, they should register for two courses; one must be for 0 s.h.

One of the two courses should be PSY:3996, usually for zero credits. A PBS faculty supervisor is needed for this. The student should register for this course under that supervisor’s section number.

For the other course, the student must register for one of the following internship courses: Internship in Liberal Arts and Sciences (CCP:1005), Academic Internship (CCP:1201), or the less commonly used options of HONR:3150 or HONR:3160.  See below for more details about those.

  • CCP:1005 Internship in Liberal Arts and Sciences (0 s.h.)
    • Requires approximately 10 s.h. a week
    • Ideal for situations in which for credit enrollment would mean additional cost (summers); enrolling in more than 18 s.h. for the student; or the student does not need to earn credits for the experience.
